Difference between Inlay and Onlay
Inlays are similar to traditional fillings, but all the work is within the ridges on the chewing surface of the tooth. Onlays are more extensive than inlays covering one or more tubercles. Onlays are sometimes called partial crowns. Overlays extend outward from the onlays.
